Roné has over 5 years’ experience in the Personal Care industry and holds a degree in Chemical and Process Engineering, as well as having completed the two-year Cosmetic Science Course attended at COSCHEM South Africa. She is also a member of COSCHEM South Africa.
Roné has gathered experience mostly through having worked at contract manufacturers of cosmetic products right from assisting with manufacturing all the way to developing new formulations in the lab. She has experience with stability testing and reporting, manufacturing of colour cosmetics and other cosmetic products, and managing a lab set-up. Development projects she addressed include sensitive washes, hair masks, colour cosmetics, perfumes and sun care products.
Holger holds a diploma and doctorate in Applied Chemistry and has 24 years’ experience in the industry, including 6 years as an R&D consultant. In addition, he has participated in 14 publications and 8 patents.
Holger is continually involved in customer solutions and formulation support, including reformulation of an anti-aging line and aiding with an instability issue on a market-leading product formulation. In addition one of Holger’s formulations won first place at the Beiersdorf award at the innovation pitch during the in-cosmetics exhibition.
Claire has over 25 years' experience of formulating within the Personal Care industry. In addition to a HND in Chemistry and Cosmetic Science, Claire has continued in the education industry and is a lecturer in cosmetic formulation at the University of the Arts in London. Active within the industry, Claire is also a member of the education committee of the UK Society of Cosmetic Scientists.
Claire developed a new customisable, biodegrable face mask made from sustainable cold process pectin that was claims tested and shown to increase skin hydration by 58% after 10 minutes. In combination with a range of actives, the mask can target a wide range of skin imperfections, including anti-ageing, purifying and calming to reduce redness of the skin.
Tracy Wei is the Laboratory Manager for Personal Care in China. Tracy has over 13 years’ experience within the industry. Tracy holds a BSc in Pharmacy and has over 8 years’ experience as an R&D engineer in an end-product company. In addition, Tracy is a regular presenter at technical seminars and supports laboratory development work in the Asia Pacific region.
Tracy was involved with developing the three award winning formulations that won the Personal Care Cosmetics Fountain Innovation Award at PCHi exhibition in Guangzhou, three years in a row.
Łukasz holds an MSc in Cosmetic Chemistry and has over 9 years’ experience within the industry. Łukasz is regularly involved in local events held by the Azelis Poland team, often giving presentations at these seminars. Łukasz’s area of expertise is in the evaluation of fragrances.
Łukasz has close cooperation with the other Personal Care and Homecare & Industrial Cleaning laboratories, offering fragrance evaluation support globally across the Azelis Group. Working on customer projects, as well as laboratory workshops for customers and internal training.
Janice Landers is the Laboratory Technician for Personal Care and Homecare & Industrial Cleaning, in the UK. Janice holds SCS Diploma in Cosmetic Science and has worked in the industry for over 20 years. Janice has worked at Azelis for 17 years and has a diverse range of experience in all areas of formulating.
Janice was recently involved with a customer decorative formulation project recently. Having to test various different technologies of film formers in order to help the customer to determine the best way to improve their current formulation in regards to wear and longevity.
Adriana Tarczyńska is the Fragrance Evaluation Manager for Personal Care and Homecare & Industrial Cleaning in Poland. Adriana has over 12 years’ experience within the industry and holds a MSc of Cosmetology, Faculty of Pharmacy and PhD Production & Assessment of Quality of Cosmetic Products. Adriana’s area of expertise includes cosmetic production, R&D, beauty & spa and fragrance evaluation. In addition, Adriana regularly lectures at seminars organised by the Azelis Poland team.
Adriana was recently involved with prototype formulations and sample preparations for a couple of local events, as well as a large group exhibition attended by Azelis representatives globally.
Ali Witwit is the VP of Technology and Innovation for the Personal Care application lab in Sante Fe Springs, California. Ali has over 17 years of experience of formulating within the Personal Care industry. He leads the technical sales team at Sante Fe Springs and is responsible for their education and knowledge of the suppliers’ product lines. Ali also challenges the boundaries of innovation with his novel ideas and formulating skills.
Ali has an educational channel on YouTube with numerous whiteboard “Intelligent Ingredients®” videos demonstrating the latest launches of suppliers ingredients.
Iana Do-Yeon Kim is the Laboratory Manager for Personal Care in Korea. Iana holds a degree in Nano Advanced Materials (Chemicals) from the University of Konyang and has worked in the industry for 11 years. Her area of expertise lies in silicone formulation of skin care, make-up and hair care products.
Iana regularly holds technical customer seminars focusing on silicones and provides training for Azelis employees.
Iana has developed many formulations using silicone and natural wax, including customers’ finished products. A recent project involved customisation of a silicone resin. She developed the optimised ratio of each ingredient to meet the customer’s need on volatility and sensory. The product is now in pilot test phase, awaiting customer audit.
Jenny Bacani is Formulation Chemist in the Azelis Personal Care Lab in California, US. Jenny received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines and has over 3 years’ experience in the Personal Care industry. Jenny is an active member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC), California Chapter.
Jenny's expertise lies in skin care, hair care, and sun care. She recently developed a versatile, natural and sulfate-free cleanser formula that utilizes less than 10 ingredients and is based on clean beauty concept.
Sophie Thirion is Laboratory and Technical Account Manager for Personal Care in France.
Sophie has more than six years' experience in Personal Care and holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry and Cosmetic Science. She is a member of the Société Française de Cosmétologie (SFC) and she worked for three years as a member of Technical Commission in Cosmébio (French association for Organic certified cosmetics).
As a Technical Manager, she is involved in solving issues customers are experiencing. She also loves to come up with “collections” every year to show our innovation though formulation such as a solid, concentrated shower gel which contains less than 10% water, making it more economical and ecological than a bar of soap.
Her expertise lies in formulating for hair care, skin care, sun care, toiletries and fragrances. She has also gained experience in the development of natural and organic-certified cosmetic products. Sophie is very proud that she has already been awarded by different magazines and consumer associations for several products she developed.
Yasa Engin is Application and Training Center Manager for Personal Care in Turkey. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and has more than 13 years' experience in the industry.
Her expertise lies in color cosmetics and she has recently been working on multifunctional color cosmetic products. Another recent development is a hand cream with an adapted biocidal product for care and protection.
Marian is responsible for the Azelis laboratory in Egypt and also provides MEA customers with technical support, training, formulation problem solving and full formulation services.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Physics and has more than 12 years of experience in the personal care industry. Marian has a huge range of experience having previously worked in contract manufacture, hotel amenities and smaller startup companies.
Her formulation knowledge is focused on hair care, skin care, sun care, baby care and cosmeceutical products. She has very wide experience in SPA and natural products.
Marian excels at solving formulation problems and doing her best to make products that are streamlined and simpler, easier to manufacture, easy to use and more effective with a focus on cost-effectiveness, trends and market needs.
